Is Framer free? Framer pricing and plans explained

Yes, Framer offers a free plan, but it is intended for non-commercial use and gives you a Framer address rather than a custom domain. Paid plans begin at $10 a month when billed yearly.

Prices below come from Framer's official pricing page as seen from the United States on 4 November 2026. Check framer.com/pricing before you buy.

Framer’s plans are priced per site. Free is $0 and is for non-commercial use, with publishing on a Framer domain. Basic costs $10 a month and Pro costs $30 a month with yearly billing. Framer also offers a custom Enterprise plan.

Framer is a visual site builder with a design-focused editor, and pricing is per site. The sections below explain what each plan includes and where costs may increase.

Framer shows yearly prices only on its pricing page. One third party comparison lists $15 for Basic and $45 for Pro month to month, to be confirmed at checkout. Prices are per site, and sales tax based on your location is added at checkout.

What the Free plan includes

  • A free Framer domain, meaning a Framer address instead of your own.
  • 1 GB of bandwidth.
  • 500 AI credits to try, available as long as your workspace has no active subscription.
  • Up to 10 CMS collections and 1,000 pages.
  • 5 MB for each file upload.
  • Up to three editors in a workspace with no subscription.

The plan page shows a “Made in Framer” badge on free sites, and Framer calls Free ideal for non-commercial use. Framer’s page does not clearly bar commercial use, so a business or client site should use a paid plan.

Free sites may be crawled and indexed by default unless you set a page to noindex. Framer's help pages say search engines still choose whether to index a page, so a free site is not certain to appear in results.

Free allows more pages and collections than Basic, but cannot use a custom domain and is non-commercial. Basic is the cheapest plan that lets you use your own domain. Pro adds redirects, a staging environment and more space.

Where costs can rise

  • Additional editors: $20 per month for each one. Viewers are free, while content editors cost $10 per editor.
  • Pro usage add-ons: bandwidth costs $40 for each additional 100 GB, up to 2 TB. Pages cost $20 for each additional 100, up to 700. CMS collections cost $40 for each additional 10, up to 40. CMS items cost $20 for each additional 10,000, up to 40,000.
  • Basic limits are fixed. Framer's pricing page gives no overage rates for Basic, so you must upgrade when you reach a limit.
  • Translation locales: $20 for each locale on Basic and Pro, up to 20.
  • Advanced hosting: a $200 add-on with Pro, and included in Enterprise.

For bandwidth, Framer permits an overage for one month and sends a notification. If the overage continues, Framer may ask you to upgrade or bill you for the additional use.

Free Basic plan for students

Students enrolled in a certified in-person or online program, such as high school, college or university, may apply for a free Basic plan for a portfolio or personal site. Framer says it is worth $120 a year. Apply using the form on Framer's student page, which asks for an expected graduation date. Framer aims to review applications within five working days, and eligible students may apply again every 11 months.

Refunds and cancellation

For customers in the United States, Framer says to contact Framer Support to request a refund within seven days of the first purchase. Refunds are generally not available after that period, even for unused subscription time. Canceling by itself does not result in a refund, so make your request before canceling.

Which plan should you choose?

  • Learning the editor or creating a practice site: Free.
  • A portfolio or small business site with your own domain: Basic, if 30 pages and 50 GB of bandwidth are sufficient.
  • A larger marketing site, blog or team: Pro, for its higher limits, redirects and staging.
  • High traffic or strict security requirements: Enterprise, with custom limits and support.

For a free option with a more traditional builder, compare it with the Wix free plan. For paid options, see Webflow pricing and Squarespace plans. If you are new to this, begin with what a website builder is.
